Introduction: Maxillary canine impaction is a frequent clinical issue with significant esthetic and functional implications. Understanding its etiologies, diagnostic tools, and prognosis indicators is key for optimal treatment planning. Materials and Methods: A narrative review was conducted using PubMed (MEDLINE) with keywords: __doublequotosingimpacted canine,__doublequotosing __doublequotosingprognosis,__doublequotosing __doublequotosingsurgical traction,__doublequotosing and __doublequotosingorthodontic treatment.__doublequotosing Only English and French articles were included, selected based on titles, abstracts, and full-text relevance. Results: Prognosis factors include patient age, angulation, root development, and cooperation. Early diagnosis and intervention increase treatment success. CBCT imaging provides a detailed assessment. Treatment options range from interceptive techniques to surgical-orthodontic approaches depending on prognosis.Discussion: A better understanding of prognosis indicators guides clinicians toward tailored and effective treatment strategies. Limitations of the literature include a lack of longitudinal studies and heterogeneous methodologies.
