Abstract:

Persistent or recurrent corneal ulcers are among the most difficult ophthalmological conditions to treat and may potentially result in blindness. In the absence of healing, they progress toward corneal perforation or total __doublequotosingde novo__doublequotosing vascularization. Although the clinical diagnosis may be made easily, the management can be quite challenging. Novel therapies recently being investigated are beginning to show promise in the treatment of the non healing corneal epithelium.
