Although the etiology of takotsubo syndrome remains obscure, catecholamines release appears to be the principal trigger. The case presented in this article illustrates how the use of catecholamines stressors in an already anxious patient induced an acute Takotsubo syndrome mimicking acute myocardial infarction.
