Within a defined volume of interest, signals may be registered from chemical nuclei within the body; the most commonly used nuclei are protons (hydrogen). It differs from conventional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in that spectra provide physiological and chemical information instead of anatomy. In this article, we aimed to show the usefulness of MRS in differentiating brain tumors and non-neoplastic diseases mimicking brain tumors in conventional MRI.
